Group Classes

Develop your skill of self awareness and your sensitivity to how you feel and move so you can recognise when tension is building up in your body. Learn the basic movements of a Somatic Movement practice so you can take care of yourself for the long term.

In Person

Location: Corpus Studios (Borrens), 33 rue Borrens, 1050 Brussels

Day/time: Sundays at 11am (1hr) – no Sunday classes during the summer

Classes are offered in series of 6-8 classes. All classes are recorded and made available afterwards for replay or catch up. Certain classes can be downloaded.

Day/time: Fridays at 9.30am (1hr class plus optional time for discussion).

What to expect:

  1. Develop the skill of self awareness
    We start by noticing our sensations in different positions - standing, walking, lying down. We want to know where we're starting from so that we can notice any changes that take place
  2. Slow, gentle movements
    Then we do a series of movements based on the theme of the class. The movements are really explorations in how you move so the softer you do them the better.
  3. Observe the changes
    Throughout the class we return to a position of "rest" to integrate what we've done and to give our brain a moment to notice the changes.
  4. Summary
    At the end of class we notice if any changes have taken place. I briefly summarise the class and the movements we've done. We share experiences and see if there're any questions.
